Recep Ayyılmaz

RECEP AYYILMAZ was born in Istanbul. He began his life of art children’s theater of radio. He completed his studies of drama at Istanbul University State Conservatory, higher musical education at Istanbul Technical University Conservatory. He concluded his second higher education at Sorbonne University in Paris and Istanbul University-Faculty of Literature & Social Sciences about French Philology.

He worked at City & National theatres as an actor. He wrote articles concerning culture & art on some magazines and some daily newspapers, and also made translations. Then, he joined Istanbul National Opera and Ballet. He also worked as an assistant to the director for 48 productions with Gian Carlo del MONACO, Marek GRESITSKI, Michael HEINICKE, Beppe de TOMASI, and Gian Paolo ZENNARO, Dimitry BERTMAN, Gunter ROTH, Jules WRIGHT, Vincenzo Grisostomi TRAVAGLINI. With the support of Ministry of Art & Culture of Turkey and embassy of France, he took a training program from Paris National Opera and participated Roberts WILSON’s and Willy DECKER’s productions as a trainee director. And he participated the repetitions of directors: Yannis KOKKOS, Francesca ZAMBELLO, Jerome SAVARY, Robert CARSEN, Jonathan MILLER, Dominique PİTOİSETE with conductors James CONLON, Paolo CARİGNANİ, Mark ELDER, Maurizio BENİNİ, Freidemann LAYER, Bruno CAMPANELLA, George MANAHAN,

Some works he staged are: Orphée et Eurydice, Don Pasquale, Abduction from the serial, La serva padrona, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Csardas fürstin, Don Quichotte, Troyens.
